Carlos Perez is a dedicated architect whose diverse journey has shaped a thoughtful and innovative approach to architectural design. His professional path began with an internship in Beijing and evolved through collaborations with artists, fellow architects, and engineering firms in Puerto Rico and New York. These early experiences exposed him to a wide range of project types and methodologies, laying a strong foundation for both his creative vision and technical expertise.
His international studies and global professional engagements have given him a profound understanding of the significant role culture plays in shaping architectural design. He believes that architecture is not only about space and structure but also about the people and communities it serves.
Before relocating to Los Angeles, Carlos spent six years as a professor at the University of Puerto Rico, where he taught second-year design studios, led advanced computer courses, and directed the Digital Fabrication Lab. His academic research focused on digital fabrication and parametric design, allowing him to explore innovative uses of materials and emerging construction technologies.
With over a decade of experience working in architectural firms and later as a design consultant in Puerto Rico—followed by twelve additional years in California—Carlos has developed a comprehensive skill set in design development, project management, and construction documentation. His portfolio includes a wide range of building types, including SINGLE residential homes, MULTIFAMILY RESIDENCES, hotel renovations, restaurants, TENANT IMPROVEMENTS, OFFICE BUILDINGS and interior architecture.
Beyond architecture, Carlos brings his creative sensibility to product design, crafting jewelry and home décor pieces through 3D printing. His ability to blend architecture with product design reflects a creative approach that brings unique elements to every project.
Licensed to practice architecture in both California and Puerto Rico, Carlos is passionate about collaborating with clients to create meaningful, refined, and context-driven architectural solutions.
